JOHN ADAMS ON HBO
I just wanted to see if you are all watching John Adams on HBO. It makes you understand better the life of William Galbreath during those times.
A interesting fact, The Old Pine Street Church in Philadelphia where William and Phebe were married in 1788 was where John Adams attended and was a member during his time at the Continental Congress. The Rev. George Duffield whom married William and Phebe was the Pastor. The church was also the church of the Continental Congress and Duffield the chaplain of the Congress.
We continue to wonder why William and Phebe and Andrew Galbreath and Elizabeth Foreman chose this church. A great possibility is that the Foreman's were members. After all, Phebe remembered sitting on George Washington lap when she was 6, which would of been 1776. Washington was also attended the Continental Congress at the time.
It is fascinating how our humble ancestors lives mingled with such famous American Patriots. But then we feel like William was also a wonderful American Patriot.
